For summiteers
Absolute silence. Unlimited distance views. Cosy cabin stops. All this is awaits you during the high alpine day hike with the popular Gosau hiking guide Betty. The just under six-hour summit hike begins with the ascent onto the Iglmoosalm - high above the Gosau valley. After a short rest, the path continues to lead us to the Goiserer hut. The rustic mountain lodge was totally renovated only a few years ago and invites you not only for local delicacies, but also a breathtaking panoramic view far over the Goisern valley. Up here the time stands still.
Persecuted Lutherans
After an extensive rest, Betty leads us to the Kalmoos church. Up here, during the Protestants persecution more than 200 years ago, the people of Goisern hid and celebrated their worship. Hence the name Kalmoos church.
This is the summit
The conclusion of our high Alpine tour, at 1,833m above seas level, is the summit hike on the Kalmberg, which looks like an Indian head. At the summit cross you have not only an excellent view into the Goisern Valley – but at your feet spreads the expansive Gosau valley. A sublime feeling.
