Jazz is becoming increasingly popular. And so it is not surprising that the number of jazz events is constantly increasing. This is also thanks to a very special formation from the Traun metropolis: the Jazzfreunde Bad Ischl.
The ambitious organizers are an association that promotes jazz in the Salzkammergut by organizing concerts with national and international musicians and supporting young, innovative artists. The aim is to bring jazz in all its diversity closer to an interested audience and to preserve a "jazz oasis" in the Salzkammergut. "Jazzkammergut X“ - three jazz musicians in top form
Jazz legend Heinz von Hermann, master of the saxophone and groove, is still active throughout Europe (born in 1936!) as a soloist, composer, workshop leader, and arranger. His autobiography, "Ein bissl Bebop bevor ich geh" (A Little Bebop Before I Go), was published in 2021, and in 2023 he was awarded the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art.
He has teamed up with the Mátyás Bartha Trio, which takes its listeners on a journey between swing and funk, improvisation and precise interplay. Pianist Mátyás Bartha's expressive original compositions and jazz standards are brilliantly interpreted by the well-established team of Christian Salfellner on drums and Danny Ziemann on double bass. One becomes lost in the stories Bartha creates, admiring the pianist's artistry and the blend of sophisticated melodic lines and the skillful euphony of the jazz trio tradition.
The three musicians showcase a wide range of their talent on their latest album, "From This Moment On," consciously allowing their influences to shine through. "A listening pleasure from the first note to the last" - Concerto.at
