What makes mountain hiking on the Loser in the Ausseerland (Styria) so special is the combination of extremely easy accessibility—thanks to the Panorama Cable Car—breathtaking panoramic views of the Dachstein and Totes Gebirge ranges, and geological highlights such as the famous Loserfenster. In a very short time, the mountain offers a high-alpine atmosphere and four summits situated within close proximity to one another.

From the top station of the Panoramabahn, our mountain guides will lead you directly to the majestic Loser summit. Passing over the Hochanger and the famous Loserfenster, you will hike together to the crystal-clear Augstsee.
You will find all details—such as the meeting point, start time, and estimated walking duration—below in our overview under the section "Information at a Glance." We wish you a wonderful time hiking in the Salzkammergut.
Good to know
The hike takes place with a minimum of 4 participants (or upon request to the hiking guides). Appropriate mountain gear (mountaineering boots or sturdy hiking boots, a beverage, snacks, etc.) is required.
The trail is of moderate difficulty; therefore, sure-footedness and a head for heights are required. Following the tour, it is possible to stop for refreshments at the Loser-Alm or Loserhütte; the return trip can be made independently via the gondola lift until (shortly before) 4:00 PM.
Due to weather conditions, the tour may be rescheduled (the mountain guide will notify you on short notice).

Alternative hikes are available for groups. Changes due to weather conditions are possible. Mountain gear (mountaineering boots or sturdy hiking boots, drinks, snacks, etc.) is required. The trail is of moderate difficulty; therefore, sure-footedness and an absence of vertigo are required.
