of the "summer composer" Gustav Mahler.
Gustav Mahler came to Steinbach am Attersee from 1893 to 1896 for the summer refreshment. Here he composed 6 songs, essential parts of the Second Symphony ("Auf erstehung") as well as his musical representation of the entire universe, the Third Symphony, in his "composing cottage" at the Gasthof zum Höllengebirge in Seefeld. The special exhibition provides insights into Mahler's life, his work and his thinking. This exhibition can be seen for about 1 year until May 31, 2027. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
