The "Salzkammergut Crafts House" (Hand.Werk.Haus) in the centre of Bad Goisern on Lake Hallstatt in the home of numerous crafts in the region. Here, visitors from all over the world can look over the shoulders of local craftsmen at work and ask questions. Every year in summer and autumn, the "Centre of Crafts" presents a unique exhibition of unique exhibits.
The focus of this year's exhibition is "Youth and Crafts" - what hands can do when they are allowed to. The "Salzkammergut Crafts House" (Hand.Werk.Haus) shows what happens when skilled craftsmen (craft businesses, lecturers...) get involved in creating something together with young people. Because it's a good feeling to create something with your own hands. In the exhibition rooms, a stylized classroom and a workroom are created, where work surfaces, machines and tools, exhibition objects, presentations and interactive manual experience space alternate. Completely analogue!
This year, the special exhibition can be seen from 23rd May to 31st October 2025 from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 hrs. during regular opening hours. For those interested, there is also a guided tour of the exhibition in German and English. So if you have acquired a taste for it, you should book a tour in good time.
