Carmina Burana – A monumental concert experience in Bad Ischl
When the first powerful sounds of Carmina Burana are heard, a musical journey full of drama, passion and archaic energy begins. Probably Carl Orff's best-known work unfolds a live effect that goes far beyond an ordinary concert.
On stage, around 150 musicians and choir singers as well as an international ensemble of soloists unite to create an impressive power of sound with great emotional intensity.
Orff's masterpiece in the ancient style – with Latin texts, medieval rhythms and the original power of music, song and dance – takes the audience into a musical world full of vivid images:
The omnipresent goddess of luck Fortuna, who turns the wheel of fate
Spring scenes full of exuberant joie de vivre
Love songs in Middle High German and the seductive power of the goddess Venus
A boisterous detour to the tavern, where the party is uninhibited
And the famous bizarre tenor solo of the "roasted swan"
Experience an unforgettable concert event in a class of its own that should not be missed. A cultural highlight that fascinates music lovers as well as curious visitors.
