The Lehár Festival Bad Ischl is the largest operetta festival in Europe and unique in its diversity and quality. Every summer, musical entertainment theatre at the highest level is presented to an international audience. This time you can look forward to the following oparette in the imperial city of Bad Ischl.
The Blue Mazur
With "Die blaue Mazur" we present a Lehár operetta that has not yet been experienced in Bad Ischl in the festival's long history.
The Viennese Countess Blanka von Lossin is unhappily married to the Polish Count Olinski, because he shows too much interest in a dancer. But it is precisely the dance that will bring the couple back together, because when Julian Olinski renounces his exuberant past life, he challenges his wife Blanka to the "Blue Mazur" and thus proves that his heart belongs to her alone.
Look forward to classical waltz melodies, lively buffo duets and, of course, swinging dance rhythms, because the mazurka gave the operetta its name.
