Musical start to the year on the River Traun
On January 1, 2026, at 16:30 h, the Salon Orchestra Bad Goisern invites you to a very special musical start to the new year at the Congress & Theater House Bad Ischl. Together with the residents of Bad Ischl and guests from near and far, the ensemble will open the new year with a festive New Year's concert full of elegance, tradition, and surprising musical highlights.

The program is artistically enriched by two outstanding solo voices: Sophie Schneider (soprano) and Sebastian Rindberger (tenor) enchant the audience with soulful songs, radiant arias and spirited duets.
The Bad Goisern Salon Orchestra is renowned far beyond the region for its unconventional arrangements and musical sophistication. In addition to New Year's Concert classics – Viennese waltzes, polkas, and marches ranging from Johann Strauss to Franz Lehár – the ensemble also presents grand overtures and specially arranged solo works. These exclusive arrangements are the work of arranger Thomas Reiner, who has been closely associated with the orchestra for many years.
The salon orchestra was founded in 2007 by conductor Alexander Rindberger, who thus united young, talented musicians from the region as well as professional musicians – including numerous graduates of the Mozarteum Salzburg – into an extraordinary ensemble.
Alexander Rindberger, born in Salzburg, studied tuba at the Mozarteum University and boasts an impressive international orchestral career, ranging from the Munich Orchestra Academy and the Bavarian State Opera to the National Theatre Mannheim. As a sought-after theatre musician and guest performer with renowned Viennese orchestras—including the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, and the Vienna State Opera/Vienna Philharmonic—he is a well-established figure in the music world. He also performs regularly with well-known brass ensembles and the Klangforum Wien. Today, Rindberger also teaches at the Upper Austrian State Music School System. With his extensive experience and passionate dedication, he leads the Salon Orchestra Bad Goisern to ever greater heights with discipline, empathy, and artistic vision.
