Winter Varieté Bad Ischl – The festival of international variety art!
Since 2022, the Winter Varieté has established itself as a permanent cultural highlight in Bad Ischl, the Salzkammergut region, and Upper Austria.
From February 4 to 7, 2027, the town of Bad Ischl will once again—for the sixth time—serve as a gathering place for world-class circus arts.
Spanning four days and a total of seven performances, the Kongress & TheaterHaus Bad Ischl transforms into an international stage for extraordinary performing arts. Audiences can expect far more than a traditional variety gala. The new show, "Varieté Emotion!", is a dynamically staged journey that balances high-octane thrills with moments of lightness, breathtaking acrobatics with touching interludes, and charming magic with comedy. The production unfolds into an intense live experience that delights, surprises, and leaves a lasting impression.
Under the artistic direction of Freimuth Teufel, a new production is created each year with a focus on the human element. The performers captivate the audience not only through emotion and technical precision but, above all, through expressiveness, personality, and genuine stage presence. Each act tells its own story—authentic and relatable.

In February 2027, the new show will be presented under the theme: "Varieté Emotion!"
The approximately 2.5-hour show—including a 30-minute intermission—blends spectacular acrobatics, elegant feats of balance, subtle comedy, and modern show elements into a cohesive, immersive experience. Compelling storytelling, creative lighting design, and evocative music create worlds that impress and moments that touch the heart.
