Grove City High School Choir
Experience a versatile choral concert that spans musical arcs from European classical music to American sacred music. Under the motto "From Mozart to Gospel", the Grove City High School Choir presents a multifaceted program with works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Clara Schumann, Zoltán Kodály, Elaine Broad Ginsberg and others - from intimate sacred music to expressive choral works of the 20th century to sonorous spirituals.
The choir of Grove City High School is a very impressive ensemble dedicated to the highest standards and excellence. It is made up of students from the 10th to 12th grades of the two best concert choirs in the high school choir program. In each rehearsal, intensive work is done on professionalism, sight-reading skills and pronounced musical skills.
The choir gave a solo concert at Carnegie Hall in June 2022, it also performed with the Columbus Children's Chorus and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, and repeatedly received the highest rating of "Superior" in the OMEA competitions for large choirs.
The choir is accompanied by Brennan Pendrake, a wonderful American répétiteur, choral conductor and composer. Mr. Pendrake is Music Director of Just North United Church of Christ, where he works as a keyboardist and conductor of choirs and handbells, composing sacred music for organ, piano and choir.
