Workshop 2024: Guitar with Harri Stojka & Claudius Jelinek in Hallstatt

Jazz & Blues Improvisation

Since 2012, Harri Stojka & Claudius Jelinek have been giving a guitar workshop every year in mid-August with a lot of empathy for all participants. So this year's workshop will take place in a very relaxed and stress-free atmosphere.

Harri Stojka dedicates himself to acoustic jazz & blues at the workshop lessons. So it is requested to participate only with acoustic guitars. In order to make the lessons accessible to guitar beginners, Harri Stojka is supported by the renowned guitarist and long-time guitar teacher, Claudius Jelinek.

If you play another instrument and would like to immerse yourself in the world of free improvisation with the guitarists, you can also register for the workshop. In the morning you will learn the basics of jazz improvisation and in the afternoon you can prepare the evening sessions and the final concert according to your knowledge.

The workshop takes place daily from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as a group lesson at the music school of Hallstatt. In the evenings, jam sessions take place in public places to deepen the knowledge learned and have fun playing together. For this purpose, the music school is available to the participants for exercises in the afternoon. Participation in the jam sessions is voluntary and free of charge. Information regarding exact times, locations, evening jam sessions, etc. will be sent by e-mail in good time before the start of the workshop. We reserve the right to make changes and will always be adapted to the circumstances!

As in previous years, the lessons focus on the art of improvisation, which is what Roma music is all about.

On August 16, 2024, the final concert with all workshop participants will take place.

The fee for the workshop is € 300 with the early bird bonus, from 1 July € 350. The binding registration takes place via the registration form, which is to be sent to the Voice of Diversity association by e-mail, WhatsApp or post.

Songs of Eastern European Jews and Moldovan Roma

In the summer of 2024, Roman Grinberg will again lead the singing class, which is organized and hosted by the "Voice of Diversity" association as part of the annual music workshop with Harri Stojka. The programme includes songs by Eastern European Jews and the Moldavian Roma – a mixture of music with which RomanGrinberg woke up in the small shtetl Belz.
