From classical to gospel
The Riddlers Choir will give a spirited concert "from classical to gospel" on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. in the Evangelical Christuskirche. The Riddlers are a select all-male ensemble of 10th-12th grade high school students at Avon Old Farms School. Named after the school's founder, Theodate Pope Riddle, the Riddlers are the best choral ensemble at Avon Old Farms School. The Riddlers are selected through a competitive audition process and have gone through the various stages of choral education. Members of the ensemble are often selected for regional, state, and national honorary ensembles. The Riddlers' repertoire is extensive, including medieval chants, Renaissance polyphony, romantic polyphonic songs, folk songs, and contemporary music. The Riddlers rehearse and perform independently and with the school's larger choral ensembles. They travel to major concert halls such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center for performances, and have recently completed international tours of Ireland, Greece, Canada, and France.
