Meter by meter for a good cause
The ski touring charity event in Russbach am Pass Gschütt in the "Tennengau" holiday region is a charity race in which participants collect as many meters of altitude as possible on the Atomic Backland ski touring route on the Hornspitz to generate donations. For every ascent of 610 meters in altitude, $6.10 is donated, and the proceeds go to a good cause, such as the ORF project "Licht ins Dunkel". The event is aimed at both hobby and professional ski tourers, offers a supporting programme with music, food and tombola and is also open to snowshoe hikers.
And this is how the event works
Participants complete as many climbs as possible during opening hours from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Each ascent is \ (3.6\) km and \(610\) meters of altitude.Donations: For each ascent, \(6.10€\) will be donated to the good cause. Participants can also collect additional donations.
Equipment
Touring skis or snowshoes can be used. Snowshoe hikers can use the Hornbahn for the descent free of charge.
Who can participate?
Both individual starters and teams of 2 are welcome. The route is also suitable for beginners.
