Bad Ischl and operetta – this love goes back to the imperial era. The life and work of many operetta composers was influenced by the Salzkammergut, just as the cultural development of the city was significantly shaped by this liaison. The renowned Lehár Festival, for example, can testify to this, but the traditional operetta concerts have also always been inextricably linked to the city's identity.
In order to stay true to this tradition, the Bad Ischl Tourist Board developed the "Operetta Salon" concert series in cooperation with the master class of the Lehár Festival in 2023. Under the direction of opera singer Linda Plech, young singers (graduates of the master class) and musicians have come together to delight the audience with an entertaining and refreshingly young event format. After the very successful premiere season in 2023, the "Operetta Salon" will enter its 2nd swinging round in 2024.
Operetta enthusiasts will have the opportunity to listen to the ravishing melodies of Lehár, Strauss, Kálmán and many other greats four times in 2024. Join our young talents on a carefree, varied excursion through the world of operetta.
