Museum of Bad Ischl

Located inside the former “Salzfertiger” house at the Esplanade, it is where Emperor Franz Joseph announced his engagement to Elisabeth in Bavaria in 1853. The house became the Museum of Bad Ischl in 1989 and houses a collection showing the history, culture and folklore of Bad Ischl, as well as the town’s development, local traditions and customs.
