1000 Years of MUSICA SACRA in the Salzkammergut Region
You can expect a fascinating cross-section of sacred music from the early church and the Middle Ages, beginning with Gregrorian chants from the 12th century Mondsee Antiphonary, the earliest known organ music from the 14th century Robertsbridge Codex, and two world premieres by Austrian composers Wolfram Wagner and Christoph Herndler. ("I sing your name" for five female vocalists and organ).
"Graces and Voices" are internationally renowned for their lively and vital interpretation of the oldest and newest music, their director Antanina Kalechyts is a renowned conductor and professor of Gregorian chant at the Vienna University of Music. Wolfgang Kogert is Viennese court organist and award-winning interpreter of old and new organ music.
