"Obertraun Mountain Moments": Full moon Trip by Dachstein-Krippenstein-Cable Car

Full Moon Excursions 

For those who are not early risers but would still like to observe the transition from night to day, there are also „Sunset Trips“. Accompanied by the Obertrauner Weisenbläser brass musicians, you take a stroll to the „5fingers“ and watch as the sun slowly disappears behind the mountain summits, and the full moon, in all its glory, lights up the night sky.

The silver light from the moon is powerful enought to light up our trail to the Lodge and to bathe the summit of the Dachstein and its glacier in mystic light. The walk back to the Lodge is truly atmospheric. Here we can sit and relax and enjoy some refreshments. The crowning glory of the evening is the ascent to the valley by Krippenstein cable car. In the sky above, the full moon is surrounded by little stars, and down in the valley, the lights from the villages of Obertraun and Hallstatt twinkle in the dark. The houses form a little trail of light across the slopes of the Sarstein and along the lake shore at the foot of the Plassen.
