Ice swimming at Lake Hallstatt, Austria 2024
The annual ice swimming at Lake Hallstatt is the 6th in a row, and takes place on Saturday the 24th of February 2024 at the Untersee beach. It will be held for the first time on the north shore of Lake Hallstatt in the municipal area of Bad Goisern, and is organized entirely by the Bad Goisern Water Rescue Team. Swimming takes place in the crystal clear and cold water of Lake Hallstatt on 4 lanes of 25 m. The heated Water Rescue hut and tempered changing rooms are available for the participants, as well as 2 sauna barrels and a hot tub for warming up.
Registration is limited, but still open. Interested swimmers can register online at www.eisschwimmen.at, in the disciplines breaststroke and freestyle/crawl for the lengths 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 m, as well as for relays over 4 x 50 m freestyle.
The organizer is looking forward to the participation of numerous local athletes and the arrival of ice swimming president Josef Köberl, the tireless driver of the scene, as well as the international participation by swimmers from Germany, Slovakia, Iceland and Mexico.
