Theme tours: Saltmining in Hallstatt

Hallstatt, in the UNESCO World Heritage region of Hallstatt Dachstein Salzkammergut, has many different facets to be discovered: Small romantic alleyways, unusual locations and more than 7000 years of history. Thanks to this year’s custom theme tours, those who wish to completely immerse themselves into the historical, cultural, culinary life, have a variety of opportunities to do so. Come with us on an unusual discovery tour of Hallstatt. Salt – the white gold. 7000 years ago the first people settled down in the small village Hallstatt. During the tour you visit exciting stages, for example the so called “Kerntragebank”, where the women in the past brought down the salt from the mountain. Do a tour through Hallstatt and get information on the history of the saltmining and saltminers in Hallstatt.
