Beneath the Lake Hallstatt

Lake Hallstatt characterizes the entire region in economic terms, and is important in terms of tourism too. Throughout the World Heritage Fest 2015, the lake is deservedly the central focus, and its many different aspects will be portrayed throughout the weekend. There will be a varied programme of events planned throughout the World Heritage Fest weekend for your pleasure and enjoyment.

Friday 26th of June 2015 from 18:00 hrs.

Celebratory grand opening of the World Heritage Fest
Introductions by the four mayors of our local communities
Presentation by Captain Severin Schenner. Theme is “From salt mining to cruise liners”
Presentation by Hans Reschreiter from the Natural History Museum in Vienna. Theme is “Our Lake – Archives from our Past”
During the evening there will be a boat trip available on the new boat owned by the Hemetsberger Boat Company
The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the World Heritage Prize

Saturday 27th of June 2015 from 10:00 hrs.

Visit to the HTBLA Hallstatt – boat building department
View the salt transporter under construction

Sunday 28th of June 2015 from 11:00 hrs.

Today is all about our children. There will be a Children’s Fest on the Lake Hallstatt bathing area.

Boat trips on the lake with Firefighters Hallstatt and Lifeguard Bad Goisern and Hallstatt. Lots of exciting events for our children and young people
The Hemetsberger Boat Company would like to invite the residents of all four World Heritage Communtities – Bad Goisern, Gosau, Hallstatt and Obertraun – to join them for a special lake cruise on any of the three days. Tickets are available from tourist information offices, and voluntary donations would be welcome.
At 21.00 hrs. there will be a “Lake Fest” by the landing stages. Local brass band musicians and the “D’Hirlatzer” folk group in traditional dress will provide entertainment throughout the evening Highlight of the evening will be a fire work display above the lake
