On Saturday, 12th September 2026, the annual mountain mass takes place on the “Zwölferkogel” - a mountain in the Dachstein massif with wonderful views. This is the 20th time that the mountain mass is being celebrated at this popular hiking destination. It is musically accompanied by Obertraun musicians and by Pastor Dankfried Kirsch. Start is at 11:30.
How do I get to the mountain mass?
The “Zwölferkogel” can be reached in about 2 hours walking time from the Gjaidalm - in the Dachstein Hiking World on the Krippenstein in Obertraun - and falls under the heading "pleasure hike"! Below, we have summarised all important cable car times for you. Tip: After the mountain mass stop by at the Gjaidalm for a collective meal of “Kaiserschmarrn” a tasty Austrian dessert!
